Can the colouration be corrected?
There is a reference, a version with one band altered and a single-band equaliser. The knob has to be moved until both sound the same; if one has no alteration, it is confirmed without touching anything.
Adjusting the listening level
The volume is raised until the noise is heard clearly and comfortably. If a voice had to be raised to talk over it, it is too loud. Turning it up further does not improve any exercise.
