Fleetwood Mac has two distinct lives. It was born in London in 1967 as a British blues band led by guitarist Peter Green, with Mick Fleetwood on drums and John McVie on bass. After years of transformations, in 1975 Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the group and gave rise to its second, most renowned incarnation. In 1977, they released Rumours, an album written amidst romantic breakups within the band itself, which has become one of the best-selling albums in history. The emotional chemistry between the five members, the perfection of their vocal harmonies, and the dramatic tension of their recordings defined the sound of late seventies Californian rock.
