HiFiCafe Code of Ethics
Last updated: February 23, 2026
Introduction
HiFiCafe was born as a meeting place for people united by their passion for high-fidelity audio and music. From its origins, this community has been built on a fundamental principle: the love of sound knows no borders, and anyone who shares it has a place here.
HiFiCafe is a space of absolute respect for people and their circumstances. Geographic origin, nationality, culture, language, religion, personal beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, age, economic status, or level of technical knowledge do not determine the value of any member within this community. All members are welcome on equal terms.
The only criterion for belonging is sharing an interest in quality audio and respect for those who share it. This code of ethics establishes the principles and standards that make it possible for HiFiCafe to be a safe, enriching, and multicultural place for all its members, today and in the future.
1. Fundamental Principles
1.1 Universal Respect
Every member of HiFiCafe deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their origin, language, beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, age, economic status, or level of knowledge. No form of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or belittlement will be tolerated.
1.2 Diversity as Richness
Cultural, linguistic, and perspective diversity is one of this community's greatest assets. The different audiophile traditions of the world, from the British school to the Japanese, from European craftsmanship to American innovation, enrich our collective knowledge. We celebrate and protect this diversity.
1.3 Shared Knowledge
HiFiCafe exists so that knowledge flows freely among its members. We encourage sharing experiences, discoveries, and opinions generously, knowing that those who ask today may teach tomorrow, and that every expert was once a beginner.
1.4 Honesty and Integrity
We value sincerity in opinions, transparency in commercial transactions, and intellectual honesty in debates. Dissenting opinions are welcome when expressed with respect and supporting arguments.
2. Community Guidelines
2.1 Respectful Communication
- Express your opinions politely, even when you disagree.
- Criticize ideas, never people.
- Avoid offensive, aggressive, or condescending language.
- Respect the language in which each person expresses themselves. If you don't understand it, ask kindly or use the available translation tools.
2.2 Constructive Participation
- Contribute content that adds value to the community.
- Share your knowledge generously and without condescension.
- When correcting someone's mistake, do so tactfully and by offering the correct information.
- Acknowledge the merit of others' contributions.
2.3 Fair Trade
- Be honest in describing the condition of the equipment you sell.
- Do not manipulate prices or publish misleading information.
- Honor agreements reached with other members.
- When problems arise in a transaction, always seek dialogue and an amicable solution.
3. Conduct We Do Not Tolerate
The following behaviors are incompatible with the values of HiFiCafe and may result in measures ranging from a warning to permanent expulsion from the community:
- Discrimination for any reason: origin, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or economic status.
- Harassment, intimidation, threats, or any form of verbal or psychological violence.
- Publication of offensive, defamatory, pornographic content or content that incites hatred.
- Spam, covert advertising, or excessive self-promotion.
- Fraud, scams, or deliberate deception in commercial transactions.
- Identity theft or use of multiple accounts to manipulate the community.
- Sharing personal information of other members without their consent.
- Any illegal activity or activity that infringes the rights of third parties.
4. The Role of Creators
HiFiCafe Creators are members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the community. As role models, they have a special responsibility:
- To be examples of the values in this code of ethics.
- To foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere in their interactions.
- To actively contribute to the quality of content and conversations.
- To help new members integrate into the community.
5. Moderation and Conflict Resolution
The HiFiCafe team commits to:
- Apply these rules fairly, consistently, and transparently.
- Listen to all parties before making decisions.
- Act proportionally, prioritizing mediation and dialogue over sanctions.
- Protect the privacy of those involved in any moderation process.
- Offer complaint channels for those who believe a decision has been unfair.
6. Collective Commitment
Every member of HiFiCafe is responsible for helping maintain this safe and enriching space. If you witness a situation that violates this code of ethics, we encourage you to:
- Use the reporting tools available on the platform.
- Contact the moderation team if the situation requires it.
- Support members who may feel affected.
HiFiCafe is much more than a platform: it is a community built by and for people who share a passion. This code of ethics is the commitment that we all—team and members—make so that this place continues to be a meeting point where respect, knowledge, and passion for sound always walk together.
Thank you for being part of HiFiCafe. Thank you for making this community a better place.
