Which one sounds louder?
Two sounds, A and B, are played, and almost always one is slightly louder. Sometimes they are exactly the same sound: if no difference is heard, it is worth saying so, because that answer also counts as correct.
Adjusting the listening level
The volume is raised until the noise is heard clearly and comfortably. If a voice had to be raised to talk over it, it is too loud. Turning it up further does not improve any exercise.
